It is with deep sadness that the family of the late William "Billy" Edward Paddock of Springdale, NL, age 80, announces his passing, on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at the Valley Vista Senior Citizens Complex, Springdale.

Billy was born, raised and enjoyed his entire life in "The Cove". In 1958 he married the new teacher in town, Olive Weir, who was the love of his life for over 60 years. Together they raised four children. Throughout his lifetime, he worked hard as a miner and a logger to provide for his family and generously give to others.

He was a self-taught man, known for his wisdom, yet never lost his ability to whole-heartedly interact with and relate to children of all ages. He always demonstrated a great respect and appreciation for the beauty and wonder of all aspects of nature.

Above all, his love for the Lord was the deepest of all loves and was the constant source of strength that sustained him through every season of his life. He died as he lived, quiet and gentle, yet strong in love for his family and his faith in God.

Billy is predeceased by his parents John and Alfreda Paddock; three infant siblings – two girls and one boy; brothers-in-law Malcolm Reid and Wally Hollett.

He leaves to remember the wonderful life that he lived, his wife Olive Paddock; children Nada (Tom) Rose, Len (Pat) Paddock, Sharon (Keith) Collins, Ina (Sheldon) Tizzard; grandchildren Darren (Tonya) Paddock, Vanessa (Alec) Matthews, Kieran (Natasha) Rose, Anthony Collins, Alisha Rose, Laura Collins, Lucas (Stacia) Tizzard, Marcel Tizzard; great-grandchildren Megan Paddock, Shawn Paddock; siblings Joan Reid, Mary (George) Burton, Robert (Geraldine) Paddock, Patsie (Walter) Churchill, Ruby (Gordon) Hull, Lily (George) Osmond, June (Rupert) Locke, Don (Sherry) Paddock, Betty Pittman (Gord), Judy Hollett, Lewis (Shirley) Paddock, David (Sheryl) Paddock, as well as other family members and friends. He left indelible memories for his family and friends to cherish. Ever Remembered, Ever Loved – Forever In Our Hearts!

The Celebration of Life service was held from The Springdale Pentecostal Church on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Lindsey Foster officiating, assisted by Pastor William Sampson. Interment was at the Springdale Pentecostal Cemetery. The pallbearers were son Len Paddock; sons-in-law Keith Collins, Tom Rose; grandson Kieran Rose; brothers Robert Paddock, Lewis Paddock. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Elaine M. Rideout and Harry Oxford at Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
