Wilfred Cecil
Roy Verge
Sep 11, 1931 — Jun 30, 2019
Brighton, NL
It is with deep sadness that the family of the late Wilfred Cecil Roy Verge of Brighton, NL, age 87, announces his passing, on Sunday, June 30, 2019, at the Valley Vista Senior Citizens Complex, Springdale.
Wilfred was born on September 11, 1931 to Selby and Althea Verge of Brighton. On June 27, 1952 he married the love of his life, Lulu Burton from Long Island. Together they had 2 sons and 4 daughters. They lived a long and happy life together in Brighton, where they spent lots of time with their children and grandchildren making memories.
He worked many years in the woods until he sawed his hand and couldn't use a chainsaw anymore. He spent the rest of his working years, fishing. Wilfred was an individual who never stopped; there was no idle time on his hands. He would love to work around his shed, always doing something. Wilfred also loved to attend church and was a faithful member.
In September 2012, Wilfred and Lulu moved to the Retirement Home in Springdale. After just one year and four months Lulu passed away. Wilfred lost his zeal for life after Lulu passed, since she was what he lived for. Shortly after, sickness took its toll on him. Then in July 2018, he was moved to the Valley Vista Senior Citizens Complex.
Life's journey is now over, but the real journey has just begun. He will be forever loved and missed by his family.
Wilfred is predeceased by his wife Lulu Verge; parents Selby and Althea Verge; daughter Patsy Fudge; grandsons George Fudge, Curtis Fudge; great-grandson Justis Heath, Joshua Verge; sisters Lily Butt, Ida Fudge; father and Mother-in–law Sandy and Jessie Burton; sisters-in-law Joan Burton, Betty Oake; brothers-in-law Ted Burton, Ernest Burton.
He leaves to remember the wonderful life that he lived, his sons Kevin (Verlie) Verge, Tony (Irene) Verge; daughters Bernetta (Clayton) Vincent, Kay (Angus) Heath, Valerie (Lindy) Fudge; son-in-law Hedley Fudge; brothers Clarence (Primrose) Verge, Francis (Linda) Verge; sisters Mavis (Rex) Fudge, Bonnie (Floyd) Fudge, Ruby Guy; grandchildren Chris, Gail, Amanda, Alana, Anson, Gregory, Lorraine, Corey, Trina, Sarah, Bryant, Paul, Mark, Hope, Kristen, Cassidy; great-grandchildren Cameron, Hayley, Michael, Xena, Reanna, Brady, Madison, Kaitlyn, Hannah, Hunter, Cyrus, Karimah, Dakota, Shaylyn, Ethan, Christina-Mae, Christoff, Ciara, Eli, Jada, Denver, Darcy, Liam, Chloe, Jonah, Casey; great great-grandchild Ellie; brothers-in-law Ford Butt, Ford Fudge, Gerald Burton; sisters-in-law Marion (Max) Burton, Joy (Roland) Fudge; as well as other family members and friends.
