Obituary

It is with sadness that the family of the late Verley Noble of Springdale, NL, age 83, announces her passing on August 3, 2022. Verley leaves to remember with beautiful memories of the wonderful life she shared; nieces Lois Porter, Valerie (Simon) Beadle, Patricia (Gary) Rideout, Vanessa (Geoffrey) Hicks, Deidra (David) Newman, Brenda (Donnie) Mercer, Sharon (Reg) Carter; nephews Gregory (Sue) Porter, Chad (Jody) Porter, Keith (Marjorie) Noble, Ivan Osmond (Shirley – deceased), Murray (Patricia) Osmond, Boyd (Jane) Norman; sisters-in-law Joan Porter, Ruth Porter.

She is predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Calvin Noble; parents Majors Hubert & Ida Porter; siblings Ruby & 1 st husband Don Noble (2 nd husband Ray Burden), William & sister-in-law  Renee Porter, Max Porter, Leonard & sister-in-law Edna Porter, Roy Porter; niece Lorraine (Noble) Au.

Verley Grace Noble (Porter) was born at Bonavista, NL on February 13, 1939 to Majors Hubert & Ida (Jennings) Porter. Being the daughter of Salvation Army Officers, Verley lived and went to school in various communities around the island of Newfoundland.

Verley met her husband Calvin Noble in Grand Falls where she was a teacher and he worked at a financial institution. They were married on August 7, 1965 and lived in Springdale where she taught at and retired from The Salvation Army School. She was dedicated to her job and was dearly loved by her students.

Verley was blessed with remarkable patience and was very maticulous in all that she undertook. She loved flowers and was an avid gardener. She was a woman of strong faith and was very much involved with The Salvation Army Church in Springdale.

Verley will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.

The Celebration of Life service was held from The Salvation Army, on August 6, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Major Joshua & Pauline Randell officiating, assisted by Major Gerald Lacey. Interment was at The Salvation Army Cemetery. Pallbearers were friends Clarence Oxford, Danny Parsons, Wayne Wellman, Boyd Ryan, Dennis Mouland, Colin Saunders. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Harry Oxford and Julia Budgell of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.

The family would like to give special thanks to Clarence Oxford, Trudy Parsons and Major Gerald Lacey.
