Obituary

Venetta Lambert passed away at Chinook Regional Hospital, Lethbridge, AB, on October 26, 2023, at the age of 72.

She will be deeply missed by her sons; Sheldon (Suzanne) Lambert of Maitland, Ontario, Chad (Tammy) Lambert of Nobleford, AB, and Bobby Lambert of Granum, AB., as well as her grandchildren; Christopher, Fiona, Molly, Ashlynn, Jessie, Breagh and Ayla. She is also survived by her sister Valetta (John) Pitcher and her brothers; Tony (Madelyn) and Jerry (Colleen) Ward; as well as nieces; Lori-Ann, Jennifer, Allanna and Eva-Jo, plus nephews; Terence, Martin and Jason all of Newfoundland.

Born in the year 1950 at Ward's Point, Newfoundland, to Jesse and Melita Ward, her family moved to Triton, NL when she was young. She grew up fishing the Labrador with her family. Venetta trained as a caterer and was known by all as an incredible cook. Anyone who sat at her table would attest to her wonderful cooking. She was one of many who helped in the construction of Churchill Falls Hydro.

Venetta was a single mother to three rambunctious boys. She was a hard-working woman and took on many jobs to support her family. She enjoyed her final career as a Personal Support Worker assisting the sick and elderly.

Her seven grandchildren were her pride and joy. Visiting them filled her heart. In spare time, she was a proficient dart player and enjoyed a game of cribbage or rummoli with her friends.

Cremation has been entrusted to Christensen Salmon Generations Funeral Home in Lethbridge, AB, and a memorial service and inurnment will take place in the summer of 2024 in Triton, NL.

As expressions of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to The Salvation Army Church, Triton, NL.
