It is with sadness that the family of the late Velma Nellie Jean Burton, age 66 of Port Anson announces her passing on May 17, 2014. Velma was born on June 24, 1947 in Port Anson to Titus and Emily Morey and this is where she grew up. Velma met Lloyd, the love of her life here and they married on April 25, 1969. Together they raised three children, Peggy, Wayne and Dino. They were blessed with five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.Velma had her own business in Port Anson for several years. She also worked at FPI for many years and truly enjoyed her job. In her early years of marriage Velma was very involved in her church. She loved reading, quilting, and doing puzzle books. Velma always made time to visit the nursing homes; and, anyone that knew her would know that she never missed a funeral. Velma was predeceased by her parents - Titus and Emily Morey; step-father - George Reid; sisters - Effie, Velma and Roscellia; brother - Peter; father and mother in law Frederick and Minnie Burton; brother in law Pearce and sister in law Elizabeth.
