Valma
Bennett
Jun 1, 1943 — Feb 26, 2019
Springdale, NL
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Valma Marie Bennett of Beachside, NL, age 75, announces her passing on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 from Valley Vista Senior Citizens Home Springdale. On February 26, 2019, Valma was Promoted to Glory into the presence of her Lord who received her and welcomed her Home.
Valma was born to Joseph and Fannie Andrews on June 1, 1943. Valma was a very quiet woman, but she always let everyone know how much she loved her husband and her children. She was a kind, loving, warm, and a wonderful mother, wife, grandmother, and great grandmother; the most unselfish woman we know. She loved to laugh. She laughed at dads jokes even when she heard the same ones a hundred times before.
Verdon and Valma were married on November 8,1962. They lived a very rich, full, active, and happy life together. She loved to go for snowmobile rides, in the woods, having a boil up, help to cutting wood, and rabbit catching. She also loved camping, picking berries, being in the garden - sowing the seeds, caring for flowers, and watching the vegetables grow, and reaping the harvest to do pickles and jams.
She always said, "I'm Verdon's side kick" ... from gardening, camping, building, and renovating.....whatever he was doing, she was always right there beside him; he never had to go look for her because she was always there. Valma loved life!!
She is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Fannie Andrews; brothers Lewis Andrews, Chesley Andrews; sister Jean Loveman.
Gone but will never be forgotten. We will miss you! We will miss your gentle, kind soul, and your smile. The road was rough and the journey seemed long but we know she is in Heaven with God and her family and friends. Valma committed her life to the Lord, in 2012, her brother Ward led her to the Lord, she said the sinners prayer with him, for that we are very thankful; because of that she is safe in the arms of Jesus.
Valma leaves to remember the wonderful life that she lived, her husband Verdon; sons Larry (Sherry) Bennett, Morris (Coral) Bennett, Tony (Stephanie) Bennett; daughters Una (Hank) Pelley, Michelle (Corey) Winsor, Tina Bennett (Greg Martin); grandchildren Darrell (Rechie) Bennett, Collin (Rosalie) Bennett, Heather (Jay) Fifield, Robin (Scott) Binns, Holly (Steve) Duduj, Shelby Crothers, Jessica Martin, Geoff Martin; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers Hubert (Vera) Andrews, Ward (Vivian) Andrews; nieces and nephews, as well as other family members and friends.
The Celebration of Life service was held from The Salvation Army, Springdale, on Saturday, March 02, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Majors Wycliffe and Shirley Reid officiating. Interment was at The Salvation Army Cemetery, Cherry Crescent, Springdale. The pallbearers were daughters Michelle, Una, and Tina; sons Larry, Morris, and Tony. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Elaine M. Rideout and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
