It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sylvia Mae Hewlett (nee Fillier) of Robert's Arm, NL, age 89, announces her passing, on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from the Valley Vista Senior Citizens Complex, Springdale.

Sylvia Mae Fillier was born on April 5, 1930 to Walter and Matilda Fillier in Hampden. She met and later married Andrew Gordon Hewlett; they moved to Robert's Arm where they raised their family.

Sylvia was a very humble, gracious, and loving woman who loved the Lord and served Him faithfully. She attended and was involved in the life of her church upon till her health failed her. Her first love was that of her Lord and Saviour but she had a great love for her family, her grandchildren were her pride and joy and would love for them to visit whenever they could do so.

Outside of her love for her Lord and family, she loved for her family or friends to take her for a drive; whenever the car was moving she wanted to be in the car on the move. Sylvia also loved to cook and invite people into her home; she was very hospitable and loved to do what she could to help others. She would love to go into the woods and pick berries in her spare time and she would make preserves for her family and friends to enjoy. Another one of Sylvia's pleasures in life was to go for a boat ride and stop somewhere to have a boil-up with her family.

She is predeceased by her parents Walter and Matilda Fillier; 1 ^st husband Gordon Hewlett; 2 ^nd husband John Seymour; daughter Melita Rooney; son Pearce Hewlett; grandson Robby Hewlett; granddaughter Sylvia Norrad; brother Ralph Fillier; sister Bessie Compton.

Sylvia will be truly missed by all who knew her, she will never be forgotten and her memory will stay alive within the hearts of her family and friends. She leaves to mourn daughter Doris (Don Parsons) Hewlett; daughter-in-law Lucy Hewlett; grandchildren Douglas (Dawn) Young, Larry (Michelle) Young, Berdena (Earl) Brison, Trixie (Fraser) Ryan, Ricky (Dena) Hewlett, Donna (Martin) Anderson, Darren (Josie) Parsons; 21 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; sisters Alma Pilgrim, Violet Wilcox, Ella Andrews; brothers Kenneth Fillier, Jerry Fillier, as well as other extended family members and friends.

The Home Going service was held from Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Laun Brushett officiating, assisted by Pastor Norman Joy. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Robert's Arm. Pallbearers were grandsons Ricky Hewlett, Darren Parsons, Larry Young; grandson-in-law Fraser Ryan; great nephew Chris Payne, friend Ronald Young. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Elaine M. Rideout and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
