On September 9, 1944, Sylvia was born in Jim's Cove, Newfoundland to Hedley and Mabel Roberts. On September 22, 1965 she married Eugene Bridger, of Brighton, Newfoundland. She spent many years working while raising her four children. Sylvia loved to quilt and spent as much time as she could doing so. The last few years of her life she had been plagued with illness and pain. Sylvia left this world suddenly on November 16, 2014. She was dearly loved and will forever be in the hearts of those who knew her.

Predeceased by parents Hedley and Mabel Roberts; daughter Patti Bridger; brothers Reginald Roberts, Ford Roberts, Harry Roberts, Sidney Roberts and Albert Roberts. She leaves to mourn her husband Eugene; daughter Medena (Eugene VanLokven); sons Rodney Bridger and Chris (Kelly); grandchildren Megan Bridger and Marcus Bridger; brothers Claude Roberts, Clifford Roberts (Joan) and Ross Roberts (Beryl).

The Celebration of Life Service was held from Maranatha Pentecostal Tabernacle, Triton, NL on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Kent Sceviour officiating. Interment was at the Triton Evergreen Cemetery, Triton, NL. The pallbearers were nephews Darrin Roberts, Orvin Roberts and Albert Roberts; nephews-in-law John Wright, Lindy Vincent and Bob Simpson. Arrangements were entrusted to Bill Weeks, Elaine M. Rideout and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale, NL.
