It is with great sadness that the family and friends of the late Judith "Suzanne" Meredith Evans of Springdale, NL, age 68, announces her sudden passing, on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Springdale.

Suzanne was born in Reading, England on February 23, 1950. She was the daughter of Mary and Dr. Wilfred Evans.

She started her schooling in England but during her young age the family moved to Newfoundland. Her father practiced medicine and travelled by boat to several small communities. Suzanne also travelled with him and related stories of those trips.

They moved to Springdale and then enrolled Suzanne in school at the age of seven or eight years old. She graduated from Grant Collegiate in 1969. Following graduation she enrolled in a secretarial course in Ontario. She later returned to Springdale and worked with the Forestry Department for a few years. Following resignation from her position, she opened a craft shop and boarded dogs.

Suzanne had happy years living with her partner Peter Cwilka, Peter deceased in 2003.

During later years Suzanne devoted a lot of time to care for animals which was a lifelong love. She also became quite skillful at wood carving and did produce some beautiful (ornaments) carvings.

Suzanne suffered from health issues, which gradually restricted her activities and she died at her home on June 13, 2018. She will be greatly missed – "Gone But Not Forgotten!"

She was predeceased by her parents Dr. Wilfred and Mary Evans; brother Michael Evans; common-law partner Peter Cwikla.

Suzanne leaves behind with precious memories her next of kin Mel and Verna Pike; her close friends Deidre Dalley, Jeanette Weir, Wavey and Ford Young, Phyllis and Bruce Woolfrey, as well as many other friends.

The Celebration of Life Service was held from Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale, on Monday, June 18, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Madonna Boone officiating. Inurnment was at the Anglican Cemetery, Springdale. Urn-bearers were Mel and Verna Pike. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Elaine M. Rideout and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
