It is with great sadness that the family of the late Shirley Joy Fudge of Pilley's Island, NL, age 74, announces her passing on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at the Green Bay Health Care Center, Springdale, NL.

Shirley Joy Fudge was born on June 18, 1943 in Head's Harbour, Newfoundland to Ernest and Stella Fudge.  She passed away March 18, 2018 surrounded by family after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Family was always the most important thing to her; she is one of eight children and when she had a family of her own she always made sure that her children were close to their grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  As soon as school let out, she packed up the kids and spent the summers "across the bar," where endless hours of fun and laughter filled that house.  She enjoyed everyone gathered together sharing time, stories, and love.

She loved a good sing-along and was always very musical playing the organ in church from a young age, the piano, harmonica, accordion, and dabbled with the guitar.  Shirley was full of light and love, and no matter where life took her she always made close, lasting friendships that followed her through the years.  She made being a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend her life's work and she did it with her whole heart.

During her lengthy battle, she developed relationships with the staff at the Green Bay Health Centre and treasured everyone that took the time to sit and have a yarn with her whenever they'd get a spare minute.  She appreciated all that life gave her, and was thankful to have lived her days filled with love.

She is predeceased by her parents Ernest and Stella Fudge; brothers Wayne Fudge, Randy Fudge; sister Nancy Fudge; nephew Kerry Ryan.

She leaves to mourn her daughters Lori (Boyd), Pamela (Shane), Wendy (Steve), Amanda (Justin); son Trevor (Trilbi); grandchildren Ashlee (Mark), Coulson (Lisa), Julia, Austin, Noah, Jordan, Victoria, Cameron, Jacen, Jayden; sisters Gloria (Mick), Kay (Terry), Pam (Dale); brother Eugene (Patsy); sister-in-law Marie (Kevin), as well as many other extended family members and friends. Shirley will be remembered affectionately by all those who knew and loved her.

The Celebration of Life service was held from The Salvation Army, Pilley's Island, on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Majors Arley and Darlene Masters officiating. Interment was at The United Church Cemetery, Pilley's Island. The pallbearers were brother-in-law Terry Roberts; sons-in-law Boyd Fudge, Justin Luff, Steve Parsons; grandsons Austin Feltham, Noah Feltham. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Elaine M. Rideout and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
