Sadie Viola
Earle
Jan 3, 1934 — Dec 17, 2023
Springdale
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sadie Viola Earle, age 89, of Springdale, NL announces her passing on December 17, 2023 from the Valley Vista Senior Citizens Home in Springdale, NL.
Sadie was born on January 3, 1934 to Lewis and Emma Bath of the Horse Islands. She was the 2 of 10 children.
After leaving the Horse Islands, Sadie worked as a housekeeper on the Baie Verte Peninsula and later moved to Springdale with her sister Helen to work at the Springdale Cottage Hospital. As a result of changes within the health system, she worked at several local restaurants for a short time and later returned to healthcare, working at the Garden House and Valley Vista Senior Citizens Home. Sadie was known for her strong work ethic.
In 1955, she married Raymond Earle of Springdale and together they raised six children – Barry, Todd, Judy, Randy, Trent and Jackie. When she wasn't working, she spent her time cooking, berry picking, attending and volunteering at the Salvation Army and enjoying the great outdoors.
In 2007, when Raymond became sick, they moved to Grand Falls-Windsor to be closer to the Dialysis Unit at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre. They lived there for seven years before moving back to live at the Springdale Retirement Centre in 2014.
Sadie is predeceased by her parents, Lewis and Emma Bath; husband, Raymond Earle; in-laws, Edward and Mary Earle; brothers, Edgar, Ford and Aubrey (Tom) Bath; sisters, Mary Bath, Helen Clarke; sister-in-law, Lucy Bath; son-in-law, Keith Blackler.
She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
