It is with saddened hearts that the family of the late Rowena Suzanna Roberts of Triton, NL, aged 73, announces her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, on October 7, 2023.

She leaves to remember with fond and loving memories, her husband, Alvin Roberts; daughters, Valerie Payne (Derek), Carla Roberts (Sterling Shears), Hilary Dawe (Vincent); sons, Leo (Karrie-Lynn) Roberts and Morley Roberts; grandchildren, Tamara Payne (Shaun), Nakita Whalen (Boyd), Raelyn Roberts, Nolan Whalen, Madison Dawe, and Logan Dawe; great-grandchildren, Gabe Penney and Gracelynn Penney; brothers, Edward Paddock (Rose) and Don Paddock (Ada).

Rowena is predeceased by her parents, Nathanial and Myrtle Paddock; granddaughter, Natalie Payne; sister, Mary Anthony; brothers, Jim Paddock and Raymond Paddock.

Rowena was born in Long Island. She later met Alvin, the love of her life, and on September 15, 1967 they were married. Rowena and Alvin settled in Triton, NL where they raised their five children. Rowena had a great love for helping others. She was a faithful member of The Salvation Army Church, who dearly enjoyed attending Summer Silver Birches Camp with her church. Not only was she an active volunteer but she also served as a leader of her Home League Group, Junior Solders and Sunday School classes for many years. Rowena loved life and was known for her perseverance and positive attitude. She was a hard-working and wonderful homemaker who loved to cook and bake. Her baked goods often made it to the tables of her family, friends, neighbours, church family and even strangers. Her wise remarks and wit will be missed. She loved to laugh and always wore a smile even through tough times. She had a quiet personality and loving demeanor. She was a faithful friend to many and loved everyone. You would never hear her complain as she was grateful for life itself. Always holding her family close to her heart, she hated to leave them, but her body grew weary. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. With broken hearts, we celebrate a life well lived. Her work on earth is done. Fly high sweet angel and enjoy your heavenly home.

The Celebration of Life Service took place from The Salvation Army Church, Triton, NL, on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 2 pm with  Majors Garry & Sandra Ward officiating.

The interment followed at Triton Evergreen Cemetery. The honorary pallbearers were: Morley Roberts & Nakita Whalen; Pallbearers were Leo Roberts, Derek Payne, Sterling Shears, Vincent Dawe, Nolan Whalen, and Boyd Penney.

Donations can be made in Rowena's Memory to Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre Dialysis Unit, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale, NL.
