It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rosie Louise Gillingham, age 71, of Springdale, NL announces her passing at the Green Bay Health Care Centre, Springdale, NL on October 02, 2014. Rosie Louise was born June 04, 1943 to Edward and Bertha Hodder of Tibby''s Point, Victoria Cove, NL. She married Carl Gillingham of Clarke''s Head, Gander Bay, NL on May 6, 1965 and together they raised their family with love and hard work. Throughout their marriage they lived at Wing''s Point, Gander Bay, Seal Cove, Baie Verte and most recently Springdale. Rosie had many great loves in life. She loved her husband and family, loved being a part of her grandchildren''s lives over the years. Rosie absolutely loved berry picking and going to her cabin with her husband Carl and friends. But the greatest love of her life was that of her first love - having a personal relationship with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, whom she served for 60+ years. She had many different hobbies which included making jams, baking numerous amounts of bread, sewing and making dish cloths. Knitting and her love of quilt making was also very important to her. Rosie left her earthly home to take up residence in her Heavenly home on Thursday, October 2, 2014. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She leaves to mourn husband - Carl, daughters Cayla (Ken), Colleen (Paul) and Corinne; grandchildren Jesse, Jade and Toni-Marie; sisters Emily (Melvin), Viola (Sterling) and Florence (Peter); brothers Sam (Shirley), Sterling (Netta), Ray (Elvie), Gonzel (Blanche) and Ricky (Sue); sister-in-law Yvonne; She had many nieces and nephews; they were all very special to her. She will be truly missed by all who knew her but never forgotten. Honorary Pallbearer was Raymond Hodder. Pallbearers were brother Richard Hodder; brothers-in-law Sterling Hoddinott and Melvin Head; nephew Sherman Hodder; friends Howard Weir and Jack Dalley. The Home Going Celebration took place from Springdale Pentecostal Church on Sunday, October 5, 2014, officiated by Pastor Lindsey Foster assisted by Pastor Norman Joy.
