Ronald David Bowers
1935-2013

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ronald Bowers, age 77 of La Scie, NL, announces his passing on May 11, 2013. Ronald David Bowers was born to Eli and Lucy on December 10, 1935. Ron was always very outgoing and known for his wit and sense of humour. He loved to be around people and especially enjoyed getting together with a group to play darts or cards. Due to his being a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, as well as his working as a taxi driver and for Green Bay Wholesalers, Ron was able to meet many people and called many of them friends. Ron was father to 7 children, grandfather of 13, and Great Grandfather of 4, and was predeceased by his first wife Shirley, with whom he was married for 33 years. Left to mourn their sad loss are sons: David, Ivan, Wade; daughters: Trudy, Peggy, Edna and Kathy, his wife Margaret and her family, his many grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends. The funeral service was held from the Salvation Army Church, Springdale on May 14, 2013, officiated by Majors Robert & Cassie Kean, with interment at the Salvation Army Cemetery. The pallbearers were Joe Wells, Rayfield Wells, Melvin Wells, Roy Critch, Keith Dalley & Dean Blackler. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Gail Hancock & Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
