It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Roland Noel Parsons, who passed away peacefully at the Green Bay Health Centre, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 85 years—just 16 days shy of his 86th birthday.

Roland spent most of his life as a fisherman. He loved the sea and found great joy in the outdoors. Whether he was cutting wood for the winter, picking berries, taking his daily walks to help manage his COPD, or riding his beloved quad, Roland was happiest when he was outside enjoying nature. He also enjoyed relaxing at home, especially while keeping up with his favourite television show, The Young and the Restless.

Roland had a generous heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. His kindness and compassion were especially evident in the loving care and devotion he showed to his mother until the very end of her life.

Above all, Roland treasured the time he spent with family and friends. He always looked forward to visits from loved ones, and his Thursday evening visits with his cousin, Leyton, and Nora were particularly special to him. Those moments brought him great happiness and meant more to him than words could express.

Roland leaves to mourn with loving memories, his siblings, Joy Wiseman (twin sister), Tom Parsons, Geraldine (Melvin) Fudge, & Fay Burton; as well as several nieces, nephews, a large extended family & friends.

Roland is predeceased by his parents, Theodore & Dorothy Parsons; brothers, Alvin Parsons, Selby Parsons & Gary Parsons; sister, Lorraine; brothers-in-law, Ross Wiseman, Ted Burton; sister-in-law, Paula Parsons.

The memorial service will take place Friday, July 10, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Green Bay Funeral Home, 145 Cpl. S. Bouzane Blvd., Springdale, NL, with Pastor Elaine Rideout officiating.

The interment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
