It is with sadness that the family of the late Robert "Bob" Joseph Jones of Springdale, NL, age 81, announces his passing on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from the Green Bay Health Care Centre, Springdale, NL.

Robert Joseph Jones was born on Little Bay Islands on October 2, 1939, the only child to Roy and Grace Jones. Robert was known as 'Bob' to his family and friends.

He met Vickie Weir and later on in their relationship, they were married on February 20, 1962. Together they had three daughters - Sherry, Kathy, and Tracey. Bob loved to have visits from their grandchildren - Amanda, Mark, Victoria, Peter, and Mackenzie, as well as visits from his great-grandchildren - Brady, Mercedes, Hudson, Emma, Alex, Felix, and Bethany.

Throughout his life, Bob worked tirelessly to provide for his family's needs.  Providing for his family was very important to him.

In later years he enjoyed spending most of his time at his camp, where Vickie cooked up many meals for him and the boys at the neighbouring camps. He loved the outdoors whether it was hunting, wood cutting, fishing, or picking bake apples.

Every year he would stock the camper and they headed to Daniel's Harbour for the summer months; in search of bake apples and visiting long time friends Stedman and Effie Brophy.

Bob is predeceased by his parents Roy and Grace Jones; great-granddaughter Mercedes Colbourne-Rideout.

He leaves to mourn his, wife Vickie Jones; daughters Sherry (Roy) Clarke, Kathy Jones (Morley Rice), Tracey (Rob) Clarke; grandchildren Peter (Sarah) Clarke, Amanda (Doug) Joy, Mark Colbourne (Candy Weir), Victoria (Colin) Fodor, Mackenzie Clarke; great-grandchildren Bethany Clarke, Brady Penney, Hudson Colbourne, Emma Colbourne, Alex Fodor, Felix Fodor,  as well as other extended family members and friends.

Ever Remembered, Ever Loved – Gone But Not Forgotten – Always In Our Hearts!

The Celebration of Life Service service was held from Green bay Funeral Home, Springdale, on Friday, January 29, 2021 at 11:00 am with Pastor Lindsey officiating, assisted by Pastor Bill Sampson. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Cherry Crescent, Springdale. Pallbearers were grandsons Mark Colbourne, Peter Clarke, Brady Penney; sons-in-law Roy Clarke, Rob Clarke; nephew Alvin Roberts. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Elaine M. Rideout and Harry Oxford at Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic guidelines, the Celebration of Life Service for the late Robert "Bob" Joseph Jones will be for family and invited guests only.
