It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Rita Ava Fitzgerald (nee: Scholtens) at the Health Science Centre in St. John's, NL on May 28, 2026 at the age of 65.

Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband, Thomas; sister, Jane; niece, Danielle (David); great-nephews Jordan, Elijah, Maximus and Julius, as well as her extended family in the Netherlands.

Rita is predeceased by her parents, George Scholtens and Audrey Bogarts of the Netherlands.

She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.

As per family request, there will be no public visitation or funeral service at this time.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale, NL.
