Obituary

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Richard Carter Roberts of Pilley's Island, NL, age 48, announces his passing on Friday, January 8, 2021 from the Central NL Regional Hospital, Grand Falls-Windsor.

Richard Carter Roberts was born on May 05, 1972 to Cynthia and Frank. Richard, to his family and friends was known as Rich.

He met the love of his life Paulette Whalen of Pilley's Island and they were married on July 22, 2000. Together they had three children, two girls and one boy. He was also the proud poppy to two beautiful grandchildren, Gannon and Blakelee.

Rich was a man of many traits. Carpentry being his main skill and was known for the wonderful work he did.

His passion outside of work (which was a limited amount of time) was being in the great outdoors hunting, fishing, and spending quality time with his family and friends. Rich also enjoyed working on the cabin making it a great place where he loved gathering with his family and friends. His family and friends were his life, and was always put first.

Richard is predeceased by his grandparents Sandy and Pearl Roberts, Arthur and Grace Whyatt; parents-in-law Gerald and Jeanette Whalen.

He leaves to remember the wonderful life that he lived – wife Paulette Roberts; son Tyson Roberts; daughters Ashley (Blake) Rice, Kaitlyn Roberts (Devon Bulgin); grandchildren Gannon Rice, Blakelee Rice; father Frank Roberts; mother Cynthia Whyatt; brothers Jason Roberts, Dean Whyatt (Shirley Young); sisters Yvette Roberts, Pam (Mike) Colbourne; nieces and nephews, as well as many other extended family members and friends. Richard will be missed by all who knew him. "Ever Remembered, Ever Loved – Gone But Not Forgotten – Forever In Our Hearts!"

The Celebration of Life service was held from The Salvation Army, Robert's Arm on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Col. Sandra Rice officiating. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Elaine M. Rideout and Harry Oxford at Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic guidelines, the Celebration of Life Service for the late Richard Carter Roberts will be for family and invited guests only.
