Rhodie J. Rowsell
1951 - 2013

It is with sadness that the family of the late Rhodie J. Rowsell, age 61, of Port Anson, announces his passing on March 12, 2013. Rhodie James Rowsell was born on May 1, 1951 in Port Anson to Norman and Leah Rowsell. On December 20, 1974, Rhodie married Marie Minnie Short and together they raised three sons. They have one grandson, Jordan, who is five. Rhodie was a very meek, gentle man. He loved his family and their gatherings around the kitchen table. He always helped others with rides and any other way he could. Rhodie also enjoyed being out in boat with whoever he could bring. He passed away in Grand Falls Hospital on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, following complications after surgery.

Rhodie will be greatly missed by his wife Marie; sons, Robert (Kathy), Mark (Sarah), and Adam (Tia); grandson, Jordan; brothers, Nelson, Sam, Sid (Gladys); and sister, Bessie. He was predeceased by his parents; one sister; and two brothers. Rhodie will surely be mourned by his large circle of family and friends.

The funeral service was held from the Pentecostal Church, Port Anson on March 16, 2013, officiated by Pastor Tyrone E. Ball, with interment at the Pentecostal Cemetery. The pallbearers were Ivan Smith, Rick Rowsell, Roy Rice, Joe Morey, Mac Winsor, and Roger Morey. The honorary pallbearer was Bernice Smith.
