It is with  sadness that the family of the late Reta Gwendolyn Adams (nee Foster), age 87, of Rattling Brook, NL announces her passing at the Green Bay Health Care Centre, Springdale, on Thursday, May 28, 2020.

Reta was born on April 28, 1933 in Rattling Brook to Leander and Bertha Foster. She married the love of her life, John Rex Adams on October 15, 1950. They were blessed with six wonderful boys, whom she dearly loved. She always referred to them as 'mother's boys'. Her eyes would light up when she would see them, she was so proud of all of them and their accomplishments. She loved all of her daughters-in-law and especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and she was blessed with a great-great-grandchild.

Reta worked in the farming and homecare industry during her working days. She was a member of the United Church Rattling Brook and she was an honorary U. C.W member. Reta was a woman of faith, and loved to read her bible.

For her pastime she would love to knit, quilt, berry pick, have outdoor boil-ups; but her greatest pastime was to sit in one of her three rocking chairs and rock for hours.

Reta was a woman who was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone and everyone whom she knew or met.

In 2010, Reta moved to King's Point in a cottage, that she shared with her friend Mildred Bartlett and was there until January 2020; they grew to be the best of friends. She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.

She is predeceased by her husband Rex Adams; parents Leander and Bertha Foster; sisters Sadie Whalen, Vivian Saunders, Blanche Foster; brother Basil Foster.

Reta left indelible memories for her family and friends to cherish forever. She leaves to mourn her, sons Harry (Ivy) Adams, Harold (Glenda) Adams, Alvin (Shirley) Adams, Guy (Eurie) Adams, Hedley (Karen) Adams, Dwight (Susan) Adams; grandchildren Cathy Adams, Chad (Lauren) Adams, Troy Adams (Janice Shipley), Kimberly (Tyson) Andrews, Angela (Kerry) Thomas, Steven Adams, Rebecca Adams, John (Meghan Mountain) Adams, Neil Adams (Kristen Wulff), Christina Parsons (Joshua Locke), Jeremy Newbury; great-grandchildren Timothy Snow, Kendyl Andrews, Colin Mercer, Emily Thomas,  Sydney Thomas, Elliot Wulff-Adams, Clifford Adams, Ruth Adams, Beckett Locke, Allyster Adams, Hailey Adams, Hayleigh Skidmore; great-great-grandchild Whyatt Snow; brother Hedley Foster; sister-in-law Mary Foster; nieces and nephews, as well as other family members and friends. Reta will forever be remembered in our hearts.

The Celebration of Life service was held from Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale, on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at 1:00 pm with Major Brian Thomas officiating. Honorary Pallbearer was Harry Adams. Pallbearers were sons Alvin Adams, Guy Adams, Hedley Adams, Dwight Adams. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Elaine M. Rideout and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
