Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Pearl Fannie Rowsell (nee Robinson) of Springdale, NL, age 92, announces her passing, on Thursday, November 08, 2018 at the Green Bay Health Care Centre, Springdale, NL.

Pearl was born on December 29, 1925 in Shoe Cove, NL to Obediah and Agnes Robinson. At the age of 18, Pearl left home and moved to St. John's where she worked as a housekeeper/nanny for many years. She then moved to Springdale, where she married Sandy Oliver Rowsell on March 9, 1946. Together, they raised four children.

Pearl and Sandy started an upholstery business together in the early 1970's and worked at this until retirement. Pearl had a great love for all animals, but took a kind liking to birds and small dogs. She groomed dogs for many years, and always had them as pets. Pearl's family was her life. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren, and spent many hours playing with them, having tea parties, baking cakes, teaching them to play piano, and enjoying nature at one of her most cherished places, Indian River Falls. Pearl loved her garden; she spent many hours tending to her flowers and plants and could tell you just about anything about them.

Pearl is predeceased by her parents Obediah and Agnes Robinson; daughter Barbara Rowsell; son Roy Rowsell; sisters Ida Chipp, Elizabeth Austin; brothers Clayton Robinson, Wesley Robinson, Norman Robinson, Frederick Robinson.

Left with fond and loving memories are her husband Sandy Rowsell; children Shawn Rowsell (Michelle), Pauline Rowsell-MacDonald (Wade), Roger Rowsell; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, as well as many other family members and friends. Pearl will be forever loved and missed by all who knew her. They will cherish her memory forever. Gone - But Not Forgotten!

The Celebration of Life service was held from Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale, NL on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 12:30 pm. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Elaine M. Rideout, and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
