It is with great sadness that the family of the late Winston L. Morgan, age 73, announces his passing on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from the Green Bay Health Care Centre, Springdale, NL.

Winston Lemuel Morgan was born on October 1, 1944 at Long Pond (CBS) to Joseph and Mary Morgan. At the young age of six he gave his heart to the Lord.

As a young man, he attended Memorial University to study to become a day school teacher. When he was just 18 years old he moved to South Brook, Halls Bay (1962), where he started his career as a school teacher; he taught school for six years. It was there that he met Annie Thomas, the beautiful lady whom he would spend his life with; they were married on June 13, 1964 and started their family. He loved his family deeply and would do anything for them.

Though he enjoyed teaching he was not content because he was sensing the call of God on his life and he had to be obedient to that call, so he entered Bible School to study for full-time ministry at the age of Twenty Four. He became a minister with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Newfoundland (now known as PAONL) in 1969 and ordained in 1975. Winston also served with PAOC in Kitchener, ON for three and a half years; but later returned back to NL and renewed his credentials with PAONL and proceeded with itinerary preaching until the time of his passing. Wherever God called him he was willing to go. He loved doing the work of God, whether it was preaching, visiting or every day interaction where ever that was.

He not only loved God and served Him with great passion and commitment but he loved the handiwork of God's creation. Winston, when not ministering for His creator was enjoying His beautiful creation whether that be fishing, biking, hunting, camping or skidooing. He lived life to the fullest with God, his wife Annie and their children.

Winston is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Mary Morgan; baby boy Byron Morgan; sisters Hilda Cass, Elsie Reid; brother Frederick Morgan.

Leaving to remember with fond and loving memories are his wife Annie Morgan; son Darryl (Deanna) Morgan; daughters Dana Morgan, Diane (David) Gillingham; grandchildren Kristie-Ann (Steve) Pederson; Kathryn Wheaton, Karyn (Jordan) Gillingham, Damian Gillingham (Lyndsay Jones), Dishone Gillingham (Erin Slade), Debra-Lee Gillingham (Brady Prouse), Jordan (Jessica) Clarke, Kesha Morgan (Clayton Mitchelmore), Courtney Morgan; great-grandchildren Noah Pederson, Aiden Pederson, Emma Pederson, Leland Tulk, Isaac Gillingham, Avery Clarke, Greyson Morgan; brothers Wayne Morgan, Lawrence Morgan, James (Vida) Dawe, Harold (Alma) Dawe, as well as other extended family and friends.

Winston leaves a strong Godly legacy not only to his loving family but also to the many lives that he impacted with the gospel. We say farewell here on earth but we await that glad Reunion Morning, when the trumpet shall sound and God calls His church HOME!

The Home Going Service was held from Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle, South Brook, on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Kerry Northcotte officiating, assisted by Pastor Lindsey Foster. Interment was at the South Brook Pentecostal Cemetery, South Brook. The pallbearers were grandson Dishone Gillingham; son-in-law David Gillingham; grandson-in-law Jordan Gillingham; nephew Eric Thomas; family friends Kenny Budgell, Trent Newman. Arrangements were entrusted to Elaine M. Rideout and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
