Donald A. Brown was born to Oliver and Annie Brown on March 19, 1931. He was the third oldest child of eleven children.

He left his home in Joe Batt''s Arm at the age of sixteen. At the age of seventeen he gave his heart to the Lord while attending a service at the Birchy Bay Pentecostal Church. Shortly thereafter, he went to work in Buchan''s at the Royal Stores and then moved to Botwood for work. It was there he met the love of his life and at the age of 25, he married Elizabeth Manuel. Their life as a married couple started on June 14, 1956. Their first pastorate was in Elliston, NL where their first son Benjamin, was born. They would add to their family by having four more sons Donald, Eugene, Brian, and Jeffrey; lots of fun and excitement, to say the least.

Donald and Elizabeth spent thirty six years in active ministry and pastored in the following assemblies with PAONL: Elliston (1956-1959), Frederickton (1959-1961), Musgrave Harbour (1961-1962), Seldom (1963-1967), Twillingate (1967-1974), Brighton (1974-1976), Hawkes Bay (1976-1982), Leading Tickles (1982-1986), Horwood (1986-1988), Port Anson (1988-1992). In 1992 Don became sick; as a result of his sickness he went on sick leave (1992-1996). In 1996 he officially retired and settled in Port Anson, NL with his youngest son Jeffrey and his family.

He is predeceased byhis parents Oliver and Annie Brown; sister Stella Osmond; brothers Harry Brown, William Brown, Pearce Brown; grandson Kenny Brown.

Heleaves to mourn and remember the Godly life that he lived, his wife Elizabeth; sons Benjamin (Beverly) Brown, Donald (Holly) Brown, Eugene (Sherry) Brown, Brian (Rosalyn) Brown, Jeffrey (Faye) Brown; grandchildren Lynette (Rex) Kennedy, Leanne (Jamie) Roberts, Andrew Brown, Kristen (Rocky) Bromley, Kristel (Ashley) Coles, Bobbi-Jean (Jeff) Klassen, Samantha (Matt) Penney, Nathan Brown (Brittney), Daniel Brown, Kelsey Brown, Kisha Brown, Kolby Brown; great-grandchildren Aaron Kennedy, Sarah Kennedy, Macey Roberts, Luke Roberts, Ryan Bromley, Alex Coles, Jenny Coles, Rory Klassen, Lincoln Penney, Lilah Penney,Leah Brown ; brothers Ralph (Margaret) Brown, Gerald (Joyce) Brown, Langdon (Alfreda) Brown; sisters Geraldine (Cecil) Payne, Lillian (Eliol) Lewis, Mary (Morgan) Hillier; as well as other extended family members and friends, who all awaits that glad reunion day.

The Home Going service was held from Word of Life Tabernacle, Robert's Arm, NL on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Bryce Austin officiating. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Port Anson, NL. Honorary pallbearer was grandson Kolby Brown. Pallbearers were sons Benjamin, Donald, Eugene, Brian, Jeffrey; brother Gerald. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jonathan Noel, Elaine M. Rideout and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Spingdale, NL.
