Obituary

It is with saddened hearts that the family of the late Orville Carl Newbury, age 77, of King's Point, NL.announces his passing on February 4, 2023. He leaves to remember with fond and loving  memories; his wife Jean Newbury, sons Craig Newbury, Sasha Newbury; daughter Stacy Newbury (Bruce Christie); grandchildren McKenna Wheeler, Allianna Newbury, Reaghan Newbury; brother Milton (Wanda) Newbury; sisters Marion (Wilson) Smart, Gloria Fudge, Jo-Anne Newbury-Mach (Quan).

Orville is predeceased by his parents Samuel and Tassie Newbury; step Mother Flossie Pynn; brother-in-law Major Ralph Fudge.

Dad's life and work: Orville Newbury was born in King's Point, NL to Samuel and Tassie Newbury on January 21, 1946. He met the love of his life when he was just 17 years old, and they were married November 26, 1966. Orville followed his dream to further his education and attended Trades College where he completed both the Plumbing and Pipefitting trades. He joined the Pipefitting UA 740 and was recently awarded a 50-year membership certificate. During his long career, Orville travelled all over Canada and parts of the world. He accepted every work challenge presented to him with great enthusiasm and pride. He was well known by his co-workers, family, and friends as a hard-working, kind, and humorous man. Orville was overjoyed when his 3 granddaughters were born and loved every minute that he spent with them. He enjoyed taking them on trips on his side-by-side picking up recyclables! He showered them with love, kisses, and stories. Four years ago, he was diagnosed with multiple myeloma (bone cancer) and endured a long and courageous battle with this illness and Parkinson's disease. He will be forever missed and loved by his family and friends.

The Celebration of Life service was held from King of Kings Pentecostal Church, King's Point, Nl, on Thursday February 9, 2023.at 1:00 pm with Pastor Keith Lane officiating. Interment was at the King's Point Interfaith Cemetery. Pallbearers were Craig Newbury, Sasha Newbury, Steve Austin, Matthew Fudge, Troy Fudge, and Wilson Smart. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
