Olive E. Paddock passed peacefully away on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the age of 86.  She was predeceased in 2019 by her husband of 60 years, William "Billy" Paddock.  Olive leaves to mourn her daughter Nada (Tom) Rose, son Len (Pat) Paddock, daughters Sharon (Keith) Collins, and Ina (Sheldon) Tizzard.  Her grandchildren are Darren (Tonya) Paddock, Vanessa (Alec) Matthews, Kieran (Natasha) Rose, Anthony Collins, Alisha Rose, Laura (Kirill) Collins, Lucas (Stacia) Tizzard, and Marcel (Katelyn) Tizzard.  Her great-grandchildren are Megan Paddock, Shawn Paddock, and Grayson Tizzard.  Her siblings are Wilfred (Sharon) Weir and Ada (Steve, deceased) Boone.  She will be greatly missed by her loving family.

Olive was born in Beachside, NL, and at the age of 12 moved to Botwood, NL, with her family.  Upon graduation from high school she attended summer school and was one of the first teachers to open the Springdale Pentecostal School, 1957-59. This is where she met the love of her life, a handsome young man who filled the school wood box each week – Billy Paddock. Together they raised their four children and enjoyed a full life living in "The Cove" surrounded by loving family and friends whom she cherished.

Her hands never stopped working to make clothes for her family, many quilts for every one of her children, their families and many others, home and abroad. She also enjoyed crocheting beautiful cloths and ornaments for special occasions and everyday chores.  Throughout her lifetime, she worked not only as a day school teacher, but also served as a Sunday School teacher, executive member of Women's Ministries, and faithful supporter of Springdale Pentecostal Church.  She began her career as a working mother in a substitute teacher role, then as clerk at Green Bay Drugs, and finally as manager of the Sears order office, where she made life-long friendships.  She always felt that if a job was worth doing, it was worth doing well.  She was an efficiency expert and everything she did was planned and organized.

Her greatest priorities were her faith and relationship with God, and her family.  She was committed to Christ throughout her life and lived to please Him.  With her husband, they built a Christian home where God was the center.  She spent her final days surrounded by family and is now reunited with her beloved husband, and Christ, whom she loved.

The funeral service will take place Sunday, June 23, 2024, at 2 p.m. from the Springdale Pentecostal Church, Springdale, NL, with Pastors Lindsey Foster, Robert and Geraldine Paddock, and Roy Hillier officiating.

The interment will follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Springdale NL.
