Neil Raymond
Wells
Jun 4, 1946 — Aug 7, 2022
Springdale, NL
It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Neil Raymond Wells of Springdale, NL, age 76, announces his passing on August 7, 2022. Neil leaves to remember with beautiful memories, his wife Chulla Wells; sons Mark (Angie) Wells, David (Crystal) Wells; grandchildren Eve Wells, Caroline Wells, Seth Wells, London Wells, Hudson Wells; brother Don (Phyllis) Wells; sister Kaye (Sam) Brenton; brother-in-law Lloyd Smith; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and MANY former employees.
Neil is predeceased by his parents Roderick & Stella Wells; son Paul Wells; brothers Calvin Wells, Ford Wells; sisters Mable Quinn, Francis Smith.
Neil was born to Stella and Roderick Wells on June 4, 1946. He grew up in Springdale, NL where he graduated high school at the young age of 16! From there he worked a couple of years with Roy Saunders, part time (Springdale Pharmacy). This inspired him to continue his education in medicine. At the age of 21 years, he graduated with Phc/ Pharmacist, from The College of Trades and Technology. His first professional position was with Grenfell Health Care, St. Anthony. After a couple of years in St. Anthony, he returned to Springdale and started his own business; Green Bay Drugs. He operated until this business until his retirement in 2000. Neil was a hard worker and successful businessman; he established several businesses in Springdale, St. Anthony and Triton, employing 100's of people.
He was SO proud of his sons, Paul, Mark and David, and their accomplishments.
Neil was an avid outdoorsman and thoroughly enjoyed moose hunting or just "flying" over the country in his Cessena 150 with his pilot/buddy Ross Butt. Many stories (and laughs) were enjoyed on those trips. After his retirement him and Chulla enjoyed lots of time at their cabin on Kidney Island and Salt Pond.
Then, the BLESSINGS of grandchildren came along; Eve, London, Caroline, Hudson and Seth...they were his pride and joy!
The Celebration of Life service was held from Springdale Pentecostal Church, on August 10, 2022 at 1:00 pm with Pastors L. R. Foster & R. Paddock officiating. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers were grandsons Hudson Wells, Seth Wells. Pallbearers were nephews Mike Brenton, Matthew Brenton, Drew Wells, Rod Smith, Daryl Howell; friend Kurt Tizzard. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Harry Oxford and Julia Budgell of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
The family would like to give special thanks to Ruth Wells and Dr. Dawn Armstrong for their continuous care and support. Also, special thanks to Dr. Todd Young, nurses Jenny Wells and Cora Foster, for their compassionate care during the last few months.
Donations can be made in Neil's memory, to Bunga Elementary School, in the Philippines. This school held a special place in his heart, to which he funded a Recreation Centre for the school and community.
