Obituary

It is with sadness that the family of the late Myrtice Blackler,age 90, of Springdale, NL announces her passing on March 29, 2014. Myrtice was born in Little Bay Islands on December 26, 1923 to Robert and Blanche Wiseman. On November 9, 1945 she married Ralph Blackler and together they raised four sons and one daughter. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She provided a warm, secure and comfortable home for her family. She enjoyed doing search-a-word puzzles and watching game shows. She quietly expressed her faith in her Lord and she loved and served Him faithfully. Her faithful attendance at The Springdale Corps will be greatly missed. She leaves to mourn sons Neil (Melinda), Don (Geraldine), Barry (Connie); daughter Peggy (Brian) Hancock; brother Neil (Ruby) Wiseman; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; sister-in-law Mary Wiseman; brother-in-law Marden Wiseman and special friend Florence Hancock.She is pre-deceased by her husband Ralph; son Robert; granddaughter Niella; brothers Wallace, Gerald, Allison and sisters Rita and Dorothy.Funeral Service took place from The Salvation Army, Springdale, Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 11:00 am with Majors Collin & Jacqueline Abbott officiating. Interment was at The Salvation Cemetery, Springdale. Pallbearers were sons Neil, Don Barry; daughter Peggy Hancock; daughter-in-laws Geraldine & Connie Blackler. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Gail Hancock and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale, NL.
Donations in her memory may be made to The Salvation Army Springdale Corps to be used for a special project in her memory.
