It is with saddened hearts that the family of the late Michael Matthews of Springdale, NL announces his passing on January 19, 2024 at The Valley Vista Senior Home, Springdale, NL, aged 84 years.

Michael leaves to remember with fond and loving memories; his wife, Ann Matthews; daughter, Cathrine Matthews; sons, Joseph Matthews, Ross (Kelly) Matthews, & Andrew (Brittany) Matthews; grandchildren, Madeline Hourmouzis, Cameron Fedirko, Avery Matthews, Dexter Matthews, Abby Matthews, Emily Matthews, & Bridget Matthews; brothers, Aloysius (Maria) Matthews, Kevin (Linda) Matthews, & Eugene (Dorothy) Matthews; sisters,  Olivera Hurley, Bernadine Breen.

Michael is predeceased by; his parents, Leo & Catherine Matthews; sisters, Mary Ellen Jones & Geraldine Clarke; brother, Randy Matthews; brother-in-law, Ron Breen as well as three child nephews, other relatives and friends.

In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place. There will be no public visitation or funeral service.

The family wishes to thank a very special friend, Wanda Skinner, all the staff at Valley Vista Senior Home, and Ann wishes to thank Springdale Retirement Home for always providing her transportation to visit her husband, Michael.
