Obituary

It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Melvin Vincent of Triton, NL, age 87, announces his passing on January 6, 2023. He leaves his family to remember a life time of beautiful memories.  Wife Marie Vincent; Sons Bill (Cordella) Vincent, Barry (Cindy) Vincent; Son/Grandson Conrad (Sarah)Vincent; Daughter Trudy (Bob) Williams; Grandchildren Keith (Cindy) Vincent, Sarah(Steph)Vincent; Great-grandchildren Matt Vincent, Brooke Vincent, Jacob Vincent, Lacey Vincent; Sister Beryl (Harry Stockley)Vincent.

Melvin is predeceased by his parents Albert and Chloe Vincent; Brother Bert Vincent; Parents-in-law William and Lillian Roberts

Melvin was born to Chloe and Albert Vincent on September 6th, 1935, on Vincent's Point, a place that he has always held close to his heart. He was raised with two siblings, Bert, and Beryl. On November 9th,1956, he married the love of his life, Marie. He was a devoted husband and father, and together they raised three children, Bill, Barry and Trudy. In 1976 his first grandson, Conrad, was born, whom he loved dearly and raised as his own son. He treasured his grandchildren, Keith and Sarah, and his great grandchildren, Matt, Brooke, Jacob and Lacey. Melvin took great pride in his work as a carpenter until retirement at age 68. The church was a major part of his life, where he played on the musical team for 58 years and served on the church board for 35 years. He loved spending time at his cabin with his family. Special thanks to Dr. Todd Young and staff at the Green Bay Health Center, where he was given exceptional care. A special thank you to Major Gerald Lacey for his many visits and support to the family over the last four weeks. Melvin will be forever loved and cherished.

The Celebration of Life service was held from Maranatha Pentecostal Tabernacle, on Monday January 9, 2023 at 1:00pm with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. Interment was at Triton Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers were Matt Vincent, Keith Vincent, Graham Vincent, Jeff Vincent, Guy Williams, Dawson Roberts. Honorary Pallbearer was Brooke Vincent. Arrangements are entrusted to Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
