It is with saddened hearts that the family of the late Melena Elizabeth Maud Roberts of Springdale, NL, age 90, announces her passing on October 3, 2025 at the Green Bay Health Center, Springdale, NL.

Melena leaves to mourn her children, Calvin (Karen), Clara (Earl), and Tammy (Curtis), grandchildren, Philip (Jana), Christopher (Brittany), Sarah (Grant), and Jensen, great-grandchildren Finley, Felix, Beckett, Gavin, Maddison, and Rebecca, along with a large circle of nieces, nephews, step-children and friends.

Melena is predeceased by her parents, Herbert and Maude Fudge, her first husband, Llewellyn Whalen, her first baby boy Whalen (stillborn), baby David Lorne Whalen; Samuel Pittman (second husband), and Stanley Roberts (third husband); sisters Wavey, Lavinia, Celia and brothers, Cyril, Bert, and Olonzo.

The family wishes to extend utmost appreciation to the compassionate and caring staff at Kingsway Retirement Living Home where she resided for the last seven years.  As well, thank you Dr. Melinda Noel and nursing staff at Green Bay Health Care Center for their exceptional professionalism and their compassionate care of mom during her stay there.  Melena loved and appreciated all her caregivers.

Visitation will be at Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale, NL.  Monday October 6, 2025 2-4PM and 7-9PM.

The funeral will take place Tuesday, October 7th, 2025 at 1PM at Springdale Pentecostal Church, Springdale, NL with Pastor Lucas Perry officiating.  Interment will follow at 135 Main Community Church Cemetery, Springdale, NL.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Green Bay Food Bank.  A box will be located at Green Bay Funeral Home as well as cards for a monetary donation.
