It is with great sadness that the family of the late Marion Newman, age 59, of King's Point,NL announces her passing in Fort McMurray Alberta, on March 28, 2014.Marion was born to Gordon & Violet Foster(nee Rice) of King's Point on March 3,1955. Marion spent her life caring for others. She cared for her parents, unwavering, through much sickness in their lives. Her caring and compassionate nature as well as her love and faith in God was evident in her everyday life. As a young woman, she met and married Baxter Newman of South Brook, the man she loved dearly. They were inseparable until Baxter lost his battle with ALS in 2011. They raised two beautiful girls, Sonya and Natasha, who completed the family. Her family meant everything to her especially her grand daughter Rebekah, who was the apple of her eye. Marion received a second grand daughter, Sara, when Sonya met and married Darren. Marion accepted her into her heart and home as one of her own and was truly happy to do so. She will be greatly missed. She leaves to remember the wonderful life that she lived; daughters Sonya(Darren)Bursey and Natasha(Svein Sjorn);grandchildren Rebekah and Sara; brothers Victor(Viona) & Vincent Foster; mother-in-law Jean(Pastor Freeman)Bennett and the entire Newman family whom Marion was proud to be an important part of, as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was pre-deceased by her husband Baxter; parents Gordon & Violet Foster; sister Bernice(Les)Snow; father-in-law Melvern Newman. The celebration of life service was held on Saturday April 5,2014 @2:00pm from The Pentecostal Church, King's Point with Pastor William Bowering officiating. Interment was at The Interfaith Cemetery, King's Point. The pall bearers were Victor, Vincent & Junior Foster, Bruce & Morris Newman, Barry Kelly ,Morris Penney and wreath carrier Rebekah Mercer. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Gail Hancock and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family. All donations will be given in her memory to the Northern Lights Regional Health Care Centre, Fort McMurray, AB
