Malcolm Warrick Reid
1931-2014
Malcolm Warrick was born January 01, 1931 to Edgar and Belinda Reid of Halls Bay, NL. On November 25, 1959 he married Joan Marjorie Louise Paddock of Springdale, NL and together they had two beautiful daughters. Malcolm enjoyed and had a great love for many things in life. He enjoyed the outdoors - especially gardening and "being in the woods", he was known to many as the jack of all trades and loved to learn new things. He was known to be a man of adventure, always wanting to learn how to do new things, even to that of wiring a house. So he and his brother-in-law, Billy, ordered a book from Sears to learn how to complete the project of wiring a house. As a result of studying this book, they both wired a few houses for family members. His adventures didn''t stop with wiring houses; he even learned how to use a computer in later years. He was a man of strong Christian morals and loved to read and study God''s word. As a man of the Word, he was not ashamed to share the word of God and witness for Christ. On his computer he studied the word through commentaries which he had installed on his computer. As a man of "faith" he leaves to his family a Godly legacy. On Wednesday, July 16, 2014, he left his earthly home to take up residence in his heavenly home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, whom he loved and served for many years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be truly missed by all who knew him but never forgotten. He leaves to mourn: wife - Joan, daughters: Patsy (Archie) Noble and Kathy ( André ) Bowers, grandchildren: Corey (Karla) and Bethany, great-Grandchild: Reid, brothers: Wesley (Bessie), Clyde, Jerdon (Pat) and Norman (Barbara), sister: Flossie Hewlett, sister-in-law: Elsie Reid, step-sisters: Marjorie Budden and Joan Lush, step-brothers: Eldron Short and Mervin Short. He had many nieces and nephews; they were all very special to him. Pre-deceased by: parents: Edgar and Belinda Reid, step-father: Cecil Short, brothers: Moody Reid and Joe Reid. Pall Bearers were Archie Noble and André Bowers (Sons-in-law), Corey Noble (Grandson), Billy Paddock (Brother-in-law), Norman Reid (Brother) and Mervin Short (Step-brother). The Home Going service took place from Springdale Pentecostal Church on July 19, 2014, officiated by Pastor Norman Joy. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Gail Hancock, Elaine M. Rideout and Harry Oxford.
