Major Reed
Wiseman
d. Sep 3, 2013
It is with sadness that the family of the late Major Reed Wiseman, age 62,announces his passing on September 3, 2013.
Major Reed M. Wiseman was born June 24, 1951 to Malcolm & Victoria Wiseman of Little Bay Islands. In 1971 he was married to his lovely wife, Elizabeth (Beth) Locke who stood faithfully by his side. From 1972-1974 they trained for ministry with The Salvation Army "Follows of Christ" session and together they ministered in the following appointments: Change Islands, Bridgeport, Carmanville, Bayview, Comfort Cove/Newstead, Wesleyville, Peterview, Musgravetown, LaScie and Clarkes Beach. He retired from ministry in 2001. Peacefully and confidently, Major Reed Wiseman departed his temporal tent of clay and was promoted to glory on September 3, 2013, surrounded by his family. From an early age he showed great love and trust in his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and developed a great passion for His Word, church and those who had not come to a personal faith. He is remembered for his communicating the gospel as a pastor/teacher and also for his compassionate heart that was clearly evident, as he visited his Corps and community families. It was his desire that all would hear the salvation story and upon hearing it, believe it. Missing his physical presence, love, and example are his wife Beth; son Jamie (Lori); daughter Jill (Jared); grandchildren Parker, Travis, Jessica and Jenna; his mom Victoria Wiseman; brother Dempsey (Irma); sisters Ruth (John) and Pauline (Gilbert). He is predeceased by his father Malcolm and his brother Barry. Truly he died as he lived, loving God and others. Now, his family & friends live in expectation of a glorious resurrection and reunion. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints". Psalm 116:15.
