Maisie Ryan
1924-2012

It was with great sadness that the family of the late Maisie Ryan of Springdale, age 88, announces her passing on October 1, 2012. Maisie Ryan was born at home on March 16, 1924 in Round Harbour, Green Bay to parents, Frederick and Ethel Snow. She was the second oldest of four children, Ronald, Woodrow, and Wiley. Maisie married Chesley Ryan on July 23, 1956. They had one daughter, Nina. Maisie, a very quiet and reserved woman, loved being creative. She really enjoyed being involved in a knitting or quilting project.

Maisie is predeceased by her husband, Chesley; her parents, Frederick and Ethel Snow; brother, Ronald; and sister-in-law, Velma. She leaves with fond and loving memories her daughter, Nina (Bruce); brothers, Woodrow and Wiley (Georgina); sister-in-law, Olive; and a large number of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The funeral service was held from United Church, King''s Point on October 4, 2012, officiated by Rev. Sharon Earle-Marshall with interment at Interfaith Cemetery, King''s Point. The pallbearers were Don, Merrick and Wayne Snow, Clarence and Ted Foote, and Bruce Giles.

Donations may be made to the Autism Society of Newfoundland and Labrador, South and Central Chapter.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Gail (Noel) Hancock and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
