MAE VENEITA BURTON 1936- 2012

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mae Veneita Burton of Robert''s Arm, NL announces her passing on June 1, 2012. She was born January 27, 1936 in Triton, NL to the late Stewart and Stella Budgell. She grew up with two siblings, older brother Eric and younger brother Mervin. At an early age she worked at Cec Williams Store. In 1955 Mae met, fell in love with, and married Harold Burton. Living in Robert''s Arm, Harold and Mae began to raise a beautiful family. With six children hanging around from her skirt-tails she worked hard at becoming a wonderful wife and mother. During the early years many summers were spent vacationing at West Bottom and were filled with berry picking, fishing and laughter.
When Harold began his grocery store business over 35 years ago, she once again began to work outside her home. Not only did she work hard in the little shop, she still found time to raise her children, knit, sew, cook, clean and go to church every Sunday. Though small in stature she played a huge role in the hearts of many. She will be dearly missed by her husband, Harold, brother Mervin (Rose), sons: Tony (Kim), Dean (Theresa), Rick (Charlene), Tracy (Janine and children Sarah & Ethan), daughters: Peggy (Barry), Cindy (Otto), grandchildren: Nichole, Jeffrey (Errin), Steven, Kelly, Warren, Jenna, Chuck, Chelsea, Jayme and Raven.

The funeral service took place from Word of Life Tabernacle, Robert''s Arm, on June 5, 2012, officiated by Pastor Robert H. Paddock. Interment was at The Pentecostal Cemetery, Robert''s Arm. The pallbearers were sons Tony, Dean, Rick, Tracy and grandchildren Chuck and Jenna Burton.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Gail Noel and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
