Lulu Avis Verge 1934-2014
It is with sadness that the family of the late Lulu Verge, age 79 of Brighton, NL announces her passing from the Central NL Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on January 13, 2014.
She was born on August 1, 1934 in Beaumont to Sandy and Jessie Burton. She met and married Wilfred Verge of Brighton and together they had two sons and four daughters. She spent her entire life as a homemaker and enjoyed making quilts and knitting. It made her happy when her children would come for a visit and bring the grandchildren. She especially loved her grandchildren who loved her equally in return. Lulu lived in Brighton all of her married life until she and Wilfred moved to the Springdale Retirement Center at Springdale in September 2012. Wilfred and Lulu loved each other just as much in the end as they did at the beginning. Lulu had a kind heart and a great sense of humor and will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Missing her, are her husband, Wilfred; sons, Kevin Verge (Verlie), Tony Verge (Irene); daughters, Bernetta Vincent (Clayton), Kay Heath (Angus), Valerie Fudge (Lindy); grandchildren, George, Chris, Gail, Amanda, Alana, Anson, Gregory, Lorraine, Corey, Trina, Sarah, Bryant, Paul, Mark, Hope, Kristen and Cassidy; great grandchildren, Cameron, Hayley, Micheal, Xena, Reanna, Brady, Madison, Kaitlyn, Hannah, Hunter, Cyrus, Karimah, Dakota, Shaylyn, Ethan, Christina-Mae, Christoff, Ciara & Eli; brothers, Ernest Burton (Joan), Gerald Burton; sisters, Joan Burton, Joy Fudge (Roland), Marion Burton (Max) and Betty Oake. She was predeceased by her parents Sandy and Jessie Burton; daughter, Patsy Fudge and brother, Ted Burton.Lulu left this world and moved to her heavenly home but her memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who love her.
Funeral service was held on January 16, 2014 from The Salvation Army, Triton with Majors William and Trixie Kean officiating. Interment was at the Community Cemetery, Brighton. The pallbearers were sons Kevin Verge, Tony Verge; son-in-laws, Angus Heath, Clayton Vincent, Lindy Fudge; grandsons, Corey Heath and Bryant Heath. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Gail Hancock and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
