It is with saddened hearts that the family of the late Lovejoy Annie Weir (Heath) of Springdale, NL, age 77, announces her passing on May 17, 2023. She leaves to remember with fond and loving memories; sons Allan (Nola) Weir, Shawn (Joy) Weir; daughter Sherry Weir-Payne (Bern); grandchildren Ryan Weir (Keisha), Mark Weir (Mollie), Marshall Weir (Katie), Courtney Weir (Danny); great-grandchildren Kataya Weir, Connor Weir; sisters Madelyn (Stafford), June (John), Joan (Dawson) Linda (Stan),Velma; brothers Gordon (Muriel), Guy, Wallace (Kim), Wayne (Lorraine).

Lovejoy is predeceased by her husband Benneth Weir; parents Lewis & Mary Heath; sisters Lulu, Rennie, Alma, Debra and Audrey; brothers Rex, Gerald, Bruce and Lewis; special friend Angus Mullins.

Lovejoy was born June 24, 1945 to Lewis and Mary Heath (nee Morey of Port Anson). Around the age of 7, after the untimely death of her mother she moved to Triton to live with her older sister Alma. From there she made her way to Springdale to live with her father Lewis and his wife Mabel.

While in Springdale she met the love of her life, Bennett Weir, whom she married in 1963. Together they raised a family of three, Allan, Shawn and Sherry.

Lovejoy loved life and was always known to have a positive attitude and glowing smile. She was a meticulous homemaker who loved to cook, bake and spend time in her kitchen tending on others, especially Ben. She loved flowers, knitting and spending time traveling across the country in their motor home.

Her strength of character through good and bad times, and her positive and supporting influence will linger with us as we move forward without her.

Lovejoy regularly and lovingly gave food to people in need. If you like to make a donation in honour and in memory of Lovejoy you can make a donation to the local Food Bank. A drop off box will be available at the funeral home or you can make a monetary donation.

The Celebration of Life service was held from The Salvation Army, Springdale.NL on May 21, 2023, at 2 pm with Majors Joshua and Pauline Randell officiating. Interment was at The Salvation Army Cemetery, Springdale, NL. Honorary pallbearer was Courtney Weir (granddaughter). Pallbearers were Shawn Weir (son), Mark Weir (grandson), Wayne Heath, Wallace Heath (brothers), Ford Young, Stafford Canning (brothers-in-law). Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Harry Oxford and Andrea Cole of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
