It is with sadness that the family of the late Lloyd Alfred William James announces his passing at the Green Bay Community Health Care Hospital, Springdale, NL, aged 86 years.
Lloyd leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his children, Bill , Bart, Paul (Sharon), & Dana (Chad); grandchildren, B.J., Cody, Jake, Nathan, & Logan; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Mila, Wesley, & Hunter; siblings, Elsie (Lawrence) Fly, & Jim James.
Lloyd is predeceased by his wife, Joan; parents, Walter & Mildred James; siblings, Donald James, & Meta Rideout.
Lloyd was born on May 3, 1938 in Twillingate, NL to Walter and Mildred James and lived in Little Bay Islands till the age of 10. It was then that his parents decided to floated their house across the bay to South Brook, NL. On August 22, 1959 he married the love of his life, Joan James They were married 63 years and together they raised 4 children; Bill, Bart, Paul, Dana and 1 grandson BJ.
Their family continued to grow when their grandchildren was born, BJ, Cody, Jake, Nathan and Logan; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Mila, Wesley and Hunter. He treasured them all as family was everything to him.
Dad worked as a heavy-duty mechanic for various logging companies. He was passionate about his work. He loved helping others and lending a hand whenever needed.
Dad loved hunting, especially moose, rabbits, fishing, picking berries and cutting firewood. He was jack of all trades and could tackle just about anything.
Dad was also a great story teller. Dad also loved the Lord, reading the bible and praying.
Dementia stole him from his family and himself.
The public visitation will take place Monday, April 14, 2025 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM & 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Calvary Pentecostal Church, South Brook, NL.
The funeral service will take place Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 1:00 PM from Calvary Pentecostal Church, South Brook, NL with Pastor Kerry Northcotte officiating. The interment will follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery , South Brook, NL.
We would like to thank the staff at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Centre in Botwood NL. and the staff at Central Health Long Term Care Facility in Grand-Falls-Winsor NL for their loving care.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Green Bay Funeral Home, 145 Cpl. S. Bouzane Blvd, Springdale, NL.
