Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Linda Frances Weir (nee Lush) of Triton, NL, age 72, announces her passing on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 from the Valley Vista Senior Citizens Complex, Springdale.

Surrounded by her family, on May 1, 2019, Linda was Promoted to Glory into the presence of her Lord who received her and welcomed her Home.

Linda was born to Bertha and Gordon Lush on December 29, 1946. She met the love of her life Donald Weir and married him on February 24, 1966. Together they raised five children, who were the joy of her life. She treasured her three grandchildren.

Linda was a hard working Mom, who cared for her family when her husband, our Dad, Don was always away for work. She had many past times in which she enjoyed and loved doing, when not busy caring for her family. Her past times included knitting and sewing (known as fancy work). When time would permit she would make quilts.

During the summer months and caplin season, she would love to go and pick out caplin in Don Budgell's stage for $1.00 a bucket. While at the stage there was lots of laughter with all the individuals working there or visiting the stage.

She also loved to cook, bake, and make cookies; she was known to make the best jam pies.

Linda and Don attended The Salvation Army in Triton. She loved her Lord and enjoyed worshipping with her church family.

In April 2012, they moved to the Springdale Retirement Centre. They loved it there and enjoyed the wonderful staff and made many friends. In November 2018 Linda had to take up residence at the Valley Vista Senior Citizens Complex, to continue with her care due to her declining health. She thought the staff and nurses were great and took wonderful care of her.

On February 12, 2019 the love of her life Don was promoted to Glory. On May 1, 2019 she left her earthly home to take up residence in her Heavenly home with her first Love, Jesus Christ and the love of her life, Don.

She left indelible memories for her family and friends to cherish forever. She is predeceased by her husband Donald Weir; parents Gordon and Bertha Lush; brother Pearce Lush. Linda leaves to remember the wonderful life that she lived, son Todd (Dana) Weir; daughters Patricia (Oliver) Fudge, Michell Weir, Roxann Weir, Paulette (Chuck) Grenning; grandchildren Ryan Fudge, C.J. Grenning, Eileen Grenning; sisters Melva (Harold) Wiseman, Beryl (Freeman) Ryan, Marie Brinston, Loretta (Gerald) Fudge, Rita Lush, Lorraine Lush; brothers Ralph (Marcie) Lush, Bruce Lush; nieces and nephews, as well as other family members and friends.

The Celebration of Life service was held from The Salvation Army, Triton, on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Major Gerald Lacey officiating assisted by Majors Rex and Catherine Paddock. Interment was at Triton Evergreen Cemetery, Triton. Honorary pallbearers were grandson Ryan Fudge; niece Jennifer Brinston. The pallbearers were son-in-law Oliver Fudge; brother-in-law Gerald Fudge; nephews Dwight Wiseman, Robbie Wiseman, Trevor Brinston; friend Donald Budgell.
