Lewis Winston Heath
1943-2013
It was with sadness that the family of the late Lewis Heath, age 69, of Springdale, NL, announces his passing on March 13, 2013. Lewis was born to Lewis and Mary Heath of Port Anson on May 26, 1943. He was married to Bernice (Verge) of Harry''s Harbour and together they have four boys. Lewis loved and had much pride in his boys, his three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
In his early work life he worked with Bowaters as a skidder operator. Later he worked as a driller and as a drill supervisor up until he retired with Boart Longyear. In his work he was often away from home and travelled as far away as Russia. He retired in July 1998 after suffering a heart attack. Lewis was a very quiet and loving man who loved attending church and he was a member of the Men''s Fellowship. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Besides his parents Lewis is predeceased by sisters, Lulu and Rennie and brother, Rex. He leaves to mourn his wife, Bernice; sons, Graydon (Cavelle), Ted (Valerie), Perry (Michelle), Jason; grandchildren, Cole, Damian, Alexia; great-grandson, Andrew; sisters, Alma (Bramwell), Lovejoy (Ben), Madelyn (Stafford), June (John), Debra (Colin), Joan (Dawson), Audrey (Fred); brothers, Gordon (Muriel), Guy (Daisy), Bruce (Evelyn), Wallace (Kim), Wayne (Lorraine), Gerald (Jean); Brother-in-Law, Edgar; and a large number of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service was held from the Salvation Army Church, Springdale on March 15, 2013, officiated by Majors Robert & Cassie Kean, with interment at the Salvation Army Cemetery. The pallbearers were Graydon (son), Ted (son), Perry (son), Jason (son), Otto (brother-in-law) and Darren (son of best friend).
