It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Laurita Anthony of Robert's Arm, NL, age 55, announces her sudden passing on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Robert's Arm.

Laurita, also known as "Cookie" or "Bubba" to most people, was born and raised in Makkovik, Labrador. This is where she first met Paul who would become her husband. The first time he saw her she was sawing up wood, it was love at first sight for him! She eventually moved to Newfoundland, which became her home. She loved the outdoors immensely. She loved camping, fishing and especially going out in boat. The one thing she especially enjoyed was roasting wieners over an open fire. She loved her granddaughter Naomi to the moon and back, just recently her son Clinton gave her another grandchild named Freya, whom she did get a chance to meet and hold.  Laurita was the oldest of 6 siblings, a constant mother hen to all who knew her. She was always laughing and had a witty sense of humor. She was easy go lucky and could cheer you up in an instant. One of Laurita's favorite sayings was "I have to go home now". Well Laurita, you certainly are home now.

She is predeceased by her parents Edward and Elizabeth Mitchell; parents-in-law Dawson and Grace Anthony; nephew Shane Mitchell; niece Kathleen Mitchell.

Laurita leaves to mourn and remember the wonderful life that she lived, her husband Paul Anthony; son Clinton Mitchell; daughter Crystal Anthony (Mitchell Adams); grandchildren Naomi Adams, Freya Mitchell; brothers Clayton Mitchell, Clyde (Casandra) Mitchell; sisters Susan (Sammy) Jacque, Jane Mitchell (Percy), Lillian (Aubrey) Rice; nieces and nephews Robyn Wiseman, Joey Wiseman, Benjamin Jararuse, Jennifer Mitchell, Kristen Mitchell, Brittany Mitchell, Brad Jacque, Harvey Jacque, Destiny Solomon, Devlin Haye, Elaine Obed, Stacey Mitchell, Kaleb Mitchell, Sarah Mitchell.

The Celebration of Life Service was held from Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale, on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Mrs. Barbara Noble officiating. Inurnment was at the United Church Cemetery, Robert's Arm. Urn-bearer was her husband Paul Anthony. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Elaine M. Rideout and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
