Obituary

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of the late Kemp Darrin Vincent, age 50 of Triton, NL announces his passing at the Green Bay Health Care Centre, Springdale, on Tuesday, February 11, 2020.

Otto Darrin Kemp Vincent was born to Otto and Celia Vincent on March 14, 1969, the youngest of 8 children. Kemp was born with Down Syndrome, he was very special to his family.

Kempie as he was known to his family and friends, loved life in his own special way. He was an individual who loved to have fun and laugh. Kempie had an intense interest in music and his favourite music artist was Newfoundland's own "Phil Grimes". He was a part of the Triton Special Recreation group where he enjoyed hanging out with his friends doing various activities. Kempie also wanted to go for regular car rides and enjoyed them tremendously but took great delight in his food above all.

Kempie was blessed with two amazing caregivers Cathy Winsor (15 years) and Nanette Smith (7 years). He had a special bond with them and loved them both dearly.

He will be missed by all who knew him, especially his contagious smile.

Kemp is predeceased by his dad Otto Vincent; brother Willie Vincent.

He leaves to remember the wonderful life he lived, his mother Celia Vincent; brothers Lindy (Winnie) Vincent, Corvin (Penney) Vincent, Leo (Marie) Vincent, Pratt (Verna) Vincent, Jeff (Natasha) Vincent; sisters Deborah (Charles) Bridger, Della (Lloyd) Mayo; sister-in-law Hazel Vincent; many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly; caregivers Cathy Winsor, Nanette Smith, as well as many other family members and friends. He will surely be missed by his family and friends, but not forgotten. They will cherish the memories built together on earth and they await that " glad reunion morning ."
