It is with sadness but also a great sense of hope that the family of the late Joyce Laing-Reid, announce her passing on July 14, 2009, at the age of 88. She and her family moved to Roberts Arm from Howley in 1978. She was predeceased by husband Stephen Laing in 1991. She remarried in 1999 to John Reid. Left to mourn and awaiting the resurrection are: Husband John, Sons Milton (Wendy) Medicine Hat, AB; Clarence (Joyce) Port Perry, ON; Jim (Margaret) Whitby, ON; daughters Myra (Jack) Deer Lake, NL; Sandra (Robert)Robert��s Arm, NL; Joanne (Derrick), Bay Roberts, NL; sisters Georgina, Gladys, & Betty; brother Clarence; 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Robert Paddock conducted the funeral service on Sunday, July 19, 2009 from The Word of Life Tabernacle with interment following at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Robert��s Arm. Pallbearers were grandchildren Terri Curtis, Ruth Peddle, Sandra Pierce, Jacalyn Raike, Cory Reid, Gary Reid, and Cory Thompson. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Gail Noel and Leander Hewlett of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
