It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Francis Seymour, age 83, of South Brook, NL announces his passing at the Green Bay Health Care Centre, on January 21, 2015.

John Francis Seymour was born on May 15, 1931 to Leo and Charlotte Seymour of Beachy Cove. John grew up with six other siblings who were girls. He lived most of his life in South Brook, NL. John worked with the Department of Highways and Gull Pond Mines. He loved to watch the birds flying in the sky, to see the salmon jump in the river; he also enjoyed splitting wood.
John is predeceased by his parents Leo and Charlotte Seymour; first wife Ethel; sisters Frances, Margaret, and Madeline; step daughters- Minnie and Mary Hancock.
He leaves to mourn wife Sylvia; sisters Beth, Theresa (Fred) and Dollis; step grandchildren Patti Canning (Barry Canning of Devon, AB), Tyson Hancock (and family-Goose Bay, NL) and Jason Hancock (and family-Devon, AB.); Hewlett family step grandchildren as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

The Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving was held from the United Church, South Brook, NL on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Wilson Gonese officiating. Interment was at the United Church Cemetery, South Brook, NL. The pallbearers were Selby McKay, Eric Thomas, Mike McKay, Warrick McKay, Allan Dicks, and Bruce Hewlett. Arrangements were entrusted to Gail Hancock, Elaine M. Rideout and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
