JOHN CANNING 1948-2012
It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Canning of Springdale, NL announces his passing on April 16,2012. John was born on August 7th, 1948. He leaves to remember the wonderful life that he lived, wife Doreen; daughter Jodeen (Kevin Rundstrom);grandchildren, Jeremiah, Zachary, Joel, Ezekiel & Noah; sister Judy(Denis Dupuis).He married Doreen Parmiter on July 5th, 1968 and they moved to Victoria, British Columbia to serve in the Canadian Army. They returned to Newfoundland and settled in Springdale in 1972. John worked most of his life with theNL Hydro until retirement. John led an active life and was an avid sportsman, coach and fisherman. He loved meeting and helping people, especially children and often helped young fishermen on the rivers. His wonderful sense of humor and fun will be missed. The funeral service took place from Springdale Pentecostal Church on April 21, 2012, officiated by Pastor Lindsey Foster, assisted by Pastors Brad Noel, Ralph Rowsell and Clifford Pittman.The pallbearers were: Richard Canning, Ryburn Pynn, Denis Dupuis, Donald Spencer, Glen Murray, Robert Hemeon, Jim Regular & Vernon Oldford.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Gail Noel and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
