It is with sadness that the family of the late Norma Margaret Joan" Burton, age 79 of Beaumont, NL announces her passing at the Green Bay Health Care Centre, Springdale, NL on Saturday, May 14, 2016.

Joan was born at Beaumont on July 1, 1936, daughter of Sandy and Jessie Burton. On November 14, 1953 Joan married Frank Burton of Beaumont. They raised 5 children and 1 grandchild.

She loved and served God for many years and attended Faith Pentecostal Church at Lushes Bight, where she taught Sunday School, C.A.''s, was active in W.M., and many times shared the Word of God when the pastor was away. She was a very hard worker and enjoyed life to its fullness. Joan''s door was always open and table always spread to family, friends, and strangers.

Joan and Frank moved to Springdale in 2004 because Frank''s health problems where she lived until her joyous entrance into the arms of her Saviour at 7:55 pm on May 14, 2016.

She is predeceased by husband Frank Burton; parents Sandy and Jessie Burton; daughter Sue-Gail Burton; son Boyce Burton; brother Ted Burton; sister Lulu Verge.

Joan leaves to mourn daughters Madonna (Tim) Rideout, Nancy (Keith) Young, Marjorie (Ronald) Penney, Dale (Neil) Wiseman; brothers Gerald Burton, Ernest (Joan) Burton; sisters Joy (Roland) Fudge, Betty Oake, Marion (Max) Burton; grandchildren Tonya Burton, Kris Rideout, Timmy Rideout, Olivia (Stewart) Harris, Norma Young, Nina (Sam) MacNeill, Jennifer Penney, Andy Penney, Tony Penney, Jeremy (Marina) Wiseman, Jerry (Victoria) Wiseman, Corey Eveleigh, Cass Paddock; 17 great-grandchildren.

The Home Going Service was held from Faith Pentecostal Church, Lushes Bight, NL on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Janet Strickland officiating assisted by Pastor Norman Joy. Interment was at The Pentecostal Cemetery, Lushes Bight, NL. Honorary Pallbearers were Jerry Wiseman, Jeremy Wiseman, Andy Penney, Corey Eveleigh, Cass Paddock (grandsons). Pallbearers were Dale Wiseman, Nancy Young, Marjorie Penney, Madonna Rideout (daughters); Jennifer Penney, Nina MacNeill, Tonya Burton, Norma Young (granddaughters). Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Gail Hancock, Elaine M. Rideout and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale, NL.
