It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jesse Reginald Hopkins of South Brook, NL, age 88, announce his passing, on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Green Bay Health Care Center, Springdale, NL.

Jesse Reginald Hopkins was born to George and Ena Hopkins, of Englee, NL, on September 12, 1927. He married Mary Jane Fowler in 1946. Together they raised 10 children and two grandchildren.

He loved to go camping with friends and family. Jesse was very humorous and playful, always whistling a tune. He was a man of many talents, working as a lumberjack and carpenter. Jesse was a mild mannered man, who was a Christian for many years and enjoyed going to church.

He is predeceased byhis parents George and Ena Hopkins; sister Stella Seymour; brother Thomas Hopkins.

Heleaves to mourn his wife Mary Jane Hopkins; sons Wilson (Bernice), Christopher, Rodger, David (Bride); daughters Ruth (Warrick) McKay, Jean (James) Mercer, Margaret (Anthony) Parsons, Verna (Roger) Croucher, Vera (Dean) Huxter, Lorraine (Vaden) Matthews; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild Miss Harlow; brother Neville (Lucy) Hopkins; sisters Nellie House, Zena (Herbert) Smith, Ursula (Carl) May, Maude Smith, as well as other extended family members and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The Home Going service was held from Apostolic Faith Church, South Brook, NL on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 11:00 am with Pastor Eric Compton officiating. Interment was at the Apostolic Faith Cemetery, South Brook, NL. Honorary pallbearer was grandson Shane Mercer. Pallbearers were grandsons Jody McKay, Steven Hopkins, Christopher Hopkins, Robert Hopkins, Scott Hopkins, Corey Mercer. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Gail Hancock, Elaine M. Rideout, and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale, NL.
