Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jean Winsor, age 79, of Triton, NL announces her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Care Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on April 20, 2015.

Born in Triton, NL, March 05th, 1936, Jean Elizabeth Bernice Vincent began her journey through life. Jean was one of four children of Arthur and Elsie Vincent. She met and fell in love with Edmund Winsor of Triton, NL and together they raised their four children Beryl, Wade, Corvin, and Brian. From that day until her death she became a devoted wife and mother.

While Jean was a homemaker, she worked at Triton fish plant for eleven years. She loved to stay at home and care for her children and husband Edmund. Jean loved and cared for her family deeply and took great pride in them, encouraging them in whatever they would do in life. She was known in her community as a quiet, but beautiful and dependable woman dedicated to her husband and family.

Although Jean loved spring and summer, she really did not enjoy fall and winter. Many times Jean would note that December 21 of each year marked the longest day to her because of the darkness of the night setting in early and she knew winter had come. But as spring approached a smile would come to her face; she looked forward to seeing the very first robin that the spring season would bring. All year round Jean would ensure that the birds would not be hungry; she was sure to keep food handy so she could feed them as they came near.

She is predeceased by infant child; parents Arthur and Elsie Vincent; sisters Aveline Strickland and Audrey Fudge.

Jean leaves behind husband Edmund Winsor; daughter Beryl (Clayton) Roberts; sons Wade (Marilyn) Winsor, Corvin (Bride) Winsor, and Brian (Rhonda) Winsor; grandchildren Patty (Kirk) Winsor, Russell (Amy) Roberts, Christine Roberts, Bailey Roberts, David (Lalena) Winsor, Sarah Winsor (Jonathan Kennedy), Byron (Jenny) Winsor, Ryan Winsor, Tia (Adam) Rowsell, and Lucas Winsor; great-grandchildren Cameron Winsor, Ethan Rowsell, Ryland Rowsell, Brenna Rowsell, Lulu Winsor, Wren Winsor, William Winsor, Jordan Rowsell, and Emma Rowsell; brother Ford (Madeline) Vincent. As well as many other family members and friends. Jean''s strength and presence on this earth will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

The Celebration of Life Service was held from Maranatha Pentecostal Tabernacle, Triton, NL on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Kent Sceviour officiating, assisted by Pastor Cecil Young and Pastor Mark Foster. Interment was at the Evergreen Cemetery, Triton, NL. The pallbearers were daughter Beryl Roberts; sons Wade Winsor, Corvin Winsor, and Brian Winsor; grandsons Lucas Winsor and Russell Roberts.
