Grand Falls-Windsor, NL
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jack Anthony of Robert's Arm, NL, age 84, announces his passing, on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at the Carmelite House, Grand Falls-Windsor.
On July 8, 1934 a 4 lb little dark handsome baby was born to Jane and William Anthony. Throughout his life, Jack worked at various occupations such as working in the lumber woods, as a dynamite blaster, sheet metal worker, as well as working on the hydro lines.
He later met Irene Salome Goudie, who became the love of his life and soul mate. They married on September 20, 1961. Together they raised three beautiful children who were the love of his life. He was Pop to four grandchildren and Poppy to five great-grandchildren; which he loved with all of his heart, talked about, prayed for and cried over. His family meant the world to him.
Jack loved the outdoors, he loved to go trouting, rabbit catching, moose hunting, and loved to have an old fashion boil-up in the woods with his family. He leaves his friends and relatives with fond memories to last a lifetime.
Jack is predeceased by his parents William and Jane Anthony; brothers Bruce Anthony, Harold Anthony, Gerald Anthony, Edward Anthony, Sandy Anthony, Robert Anthony, Eric Anthony, Dawson Anthony, Scott Anthony, an infant brother; sister Mildred Parsons.
He leaves to mourn wife Irene Anthony; son Cordell Anthony; daughters Darlene Anthony, Starlene Thomas; grandchildren Melissa Henstridge, Blake Henstridge, Jonathan Thomas (Lisa Mullins), Jessica Rogers; great-grandchildren Alexander, Andrew, Amber, Brooke, Liam; brother Elmer (Darlene) Anthony; sisters Bernice (Lorne) Strickland, Ruth (Fred) Colbourne; as well as many other family members and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Ever Loved, Ever Remembered - Gone But Not Forgotten.
