It is with sadness that the family of the late Hubert Hibbs announces his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Care Centre on Tuesday, July 26, 2011. He was 73 years old.
Hubert was born to Clifford and Hilda Hibbs at Little Bay Islands on February 17, 1938 and later moved to Card''s Harbour.It wasthere he met and married the former Ruby Rodgers in 1959 and together they raised five daughters and one son. Although he worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator, his real passion was music. He loved playing the guitar, piano, and accordion and he used his talents for the Lord. He loved God, his church and his family and spent many years on the Church Board where he was known as an encourager. But he will be remembered by most for his sense of fun and his contagious laughter. He passed away peacefully July 26, 2011 surrounded bymembers ofhis family.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother John.

He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Ruby, son Clifford; daughters Mondella (Brett) Morgan, Hazel, Jacqueline, Colleen, Roxanne (Wally) Roberts; sisters Vivian, Salome (Claude), Ruth, Dorothy, brothers Eric (Janice), Melvin (Kelly), Wilmore (Barbara),Heman; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren, as well a large circle of other relatives and friends.

Pastor Jeffrey Elliott conducted the funeral service from Maranatha Pentecostal Tabernacle, Triton, on Friday, July 29 with interment following atTritonEvergreen Cemetery. The pallbearers were grandsons: Dwight Elliott, Paul Hibbs, Pastor Andy Vincent, Clifford Vincent, Jeremy Austin, and Roman Roberts. Jake Austin was honorary pallbearer.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Gail Noel and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home.
